What carburetors do you rebuild?

I rebuild mostly small engine carburetors from tractors, lawnmowers, and small equipment. I rarely get anything more complicated than that. I try to limit my business to work that no one else will do. There are plenty of automobile carb guys out there. Not saying I won't do them, I just don't get much work from that end of the spectrum. top

How long does a rebuild take?

As with most things in the world, it's usually boom or bust around here. Certain times of the year I get backed up and some times it gets slow. I try to keep them all under 10 days which gives me a week and two weekends. Most usually make it out within a week. Many things determine how long it takes. This is not my full time job, I have a family, I have hobbies(this is one of them), parts availability, etc. I promise I'll get it done as quickly as I can and you will always be updated with the progress. top

Can I drop off/pick up my carburetor?

You sure can. Between the hours of 4pm and 6pm Mon. thru Fri. and anytime on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Please call ahead of time to be sure someone is here. top

Can I bring it by and wait?

Sure. Bring it by. You may be waiting a long time. Days even. Can you watch? No. top

I don't have PayPal

You do not need a PayPal account to pay someone thru PayPal. I use PayPal to handle my transactions as I deal with people worldwide. PayPal accepts all of the major credit cards, e-checks and other forms of payment. Just fill out the information like you would purchase anything else over the internet. I see none of this information nor do I want to. You don't have to tell me you have paid. PayPal notifies me immediately when I have gotten paid, who it is from, and what it is for along with the address I need to ship it to and contact information if I need to contact you. top

Do you accept checks?

I accept postal money orders ONLY. No personal checks or cashiers checks. If you pay by postal money order, be sure you have the check made out to Mark Hare. If it is misspelled they will not cash the check as my ID says nothing other than Mark Hare. This will have an impact on how long it takes as I don't make "special" trips to cash checks.  top

May I provide my own parts/kits?

Yes you may. Many people already have the parts or kits on hand and then find out they need some work done that they would rather have me do. I do not make money on parts that I order. I shop for the best prices and charge you what it costs me. I have no problem using your parts. top

Do you ship outside of the US?

Yes I do. You are responsible for any actions that must be handled on your end. Shipping times and rates vary greatly. Canadian shipments can take up to two weeks or more. top

How much does it cost?

I can’t honestly tell you how much it’s going to cost and I’m not going to try. There are literally hundreds of models of carburetors out there. Some are easy to get parts for, some you have to make parts for. Some are so simple I can do them in a couple hours. Some are so complex and intricate it takes a couple of days. There is an abundance of problems you can run into along the way such as stripped or broken off screws, nozzles that need to be drilled out, etc. All of which will influence the final price. I won’t be backed into a corner by telling you how much it’s going to be. You send the carburetor to me and I’ll clean it and inspect it, then report to you what I think needs to be done along with a quote and we'll go from there. top
